About Me
My name is Sandra K. Moore and I want to share something that happened to me not too long ago: I discovered that I really enjoy encouraging writers in their craft and in their personal pleasure of the writing process.
Sure, I’ve happily judged writing contests ever since joining the Romance Writers of America in 2002 (and enjoyed critiquing for far longer than that). But I realized when judging The Emily for sister chapter West Houston last fall that I find helping writers improve their craft to be one of the most rewarding activities I do. And I’ll be perfectly honest ~ and selfish ~ when I say that seeing story and writing strengths and issues comes naturally to me, so why shouldn’t I do more of it? Why shouldn’t I share what I’ve learned?
And here’s the truth: Whether you’re trying to get the attention of a NY publishing house or writing purely for pleasure, the same concepts and guidelines will strengthen your story. The same passion fuels the writing and creativity. The same fun and challenges confront the writer.
As a multi-published author (in the old Silhouette Bombshell line), I know something about challenges, including dealing with mild depression while on a deadline. I know about having the manuscript sent back to me with the suggestion to rewrite it. I understand the difficulties of facing the blank page and running out of ideas and struggling to finish what should be an easy scene.
This site is about a simple decision I made: To help aspiring writers on this exciting journey of writing the Book of Your Heart.
As with all advice, take what you like and leave the rest.
